Who we are

Own Bio Link (“Own Bio Link”, “we”, “us”) provides link in bio pages at ownbiolink.com and at personal addresses on ownbio.link. This policy explains what information we collect when you use our website, editor and hosted pages, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

Account information. When you publish a page, we collect your email address. We use it to sign you in with a secure link, to send receipts and service messages, and to connect your page to your account.

Your page. We store what you add to your page: your name, bio, photos, links, the design you choose and the address you claim. Your published page is public by design.

Drafts. While you edit, your draft is saved in your browser. If you sign in, your drafts are also saved to your account so you can continue on another device.

Payments. Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not receive or store your full card number. We receive limited billing details from Stripe, such as your plan, payment status and the last four digits of your card.

Page statistics. We count how many times your published page is viewed and which of its links are clicked, per day. These counts do not use cookies and do not include IP addresses, device identifiers or any other information about the people who visit your page.

Technical information. Like most websites, our hosting providers record standard server logs, such as IP address, browser type and the page requested, to deliver the service, keep it secure and diagnose problems. When you start a checkout, we store a one-way hash of your IP address for a short period to prevent abuse.

How we use information

We use information to:

• provide, host and maintain your page and account;
• process payments and manage your subscription;
• send you service messages, such as sign-in links, receipts and important changes;
• show you statistics about your page;
• keep the service secure and prevent fraud and abuse; and
• meet our legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

Legal bases

Where data protection laws such as the GDPR or UK GDPR apply, we rely on these legal bases: performance of our contract with you (to provide the service), our legitimate interests (to keep the service secure and improve it), your consent (where we ask for it, which you can withdraw at any time), and compliance with legal obligations.

Email sign-ups on your page

If you add an email sign-up to your page, you decide to collect your visitors’ email addresses and you are responsible for how you use them. We store those addresses for you, send a confirmation email before anyone is added to your list, and include an unsubscribe link in every message. For this information, we act as your service provider and process it only on your instructions.

Cookies and similar technologies

We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. We use your browser’s local storage to keep your draft, your chosen name and, if you sign in, your session, so the service works as expected. You can clear this at any time in your browser settings; doing so will sign you out and remove unsaved drafts from that browser.

Service providers

We share information only with providers that help us run the service, under agreements that require them to protect it:

• Supabase: database and account sign-in
• Vercel: website and page hosting
• Stripe: payment processing and billing
• Resend: email delivery

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect the rights and safety of our users or the public, or as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, in which case this policy will continue to apply to your information.

International transfers

Our providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses, for these transfers.

How long we keep information

We keep your account information and page for as long as your account is active. If you cancel, your page is taken offline and we delete your account information within 90 days, unless we need to keep some of it to meet legal, tax or accounting obligations or to resolve disputes. Page statistics are kept while your page exists. Server logs are kept for a limited period.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can edit your page at any time from your dashboard. To make any other request, email hello@ownbiolink.com. We will respond within the time required by law. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

Security

We protect your information with encryption in transit, access controls and row-level security on our database, so each account can reach only its own data. No service can guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your information and will notify you if a breach affects you, as required by law.

Children

Own Bio Link is not intended for children under 13, or under the minimum age required in your country to consent to the processing of personal information. We do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will let you know by email or on our website before they take effect. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated.
