Terms of Service

Agreement

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Own Bio Link, including our website at ownbiolink.com, our editor and the pages we host on ownbio.link (together, the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you use the Service on behalf of a business, you confirm that you have authority to accept these Terms on its behalf.

Your account

You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age required in your country, to use the Service. You are responsible for your account and for keeping access to your email address secure, as we sign you in through links sent to it. Tell us promptly at hello@ownbiolink.com if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.

Your page address

When you publish, you choose an address such as yourname.ownbio.link. Addresses are available on a first-come basis and remain yours while your subscription is active. You may not choose an address that impersonates another person or brand, or that infringes someone else’s rights. We may reclaim or change an address that breaks these Terms or that is subject to a valid legal claim.

Subscriptions and payment

Creating and editing a page is free. Publishing a page requires a paid subscription, billed monthly or yearly in advance through Stripe. Prices are shown before you pay and may include applicable taxes.

Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from your dashboard; your page stays live until the end of the period you have paid for. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable and we do not provide refunds or credits for partial periods.

If we change our prices, we will tell you at least 30 days before the change applies to your subscription. If a payment fails, we may pause your page until it is resolved.

Your content

You own the content you add to your page. You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, display and share it as needed to operate and promote the Service, for example to show your page to visitors and to create preview images when your link is shared. This licence ends when you delete the content or close your account, except where it has already been shared by others or where we must keep it by law.

You are responsible for your content and confirm that you have the rights to publish it.

Acceptable use

You may not use the Service to:

• break the law or encourage others to do so;
• publish content that infringes intellectual property or privacy rights;
• impersonate any person or organisation, or mislead people about who you are;
• distribute malware, phishing or scams, or link to them;
• publish sexual content involving minors, violent threats, or content that promotes terrorism;
• send spam or collect email addresses without consent; or
• interfere with the Service, probe it for vulnerabilities without permission, or access it by automated means that place an unreasonable load on it.

We may remove content or suspend pages that break these rules. Where appropriate, we will tell you why and give you a chance to fix the issue.

Templates and our materials

The Service, including its software, templates, designs and our brand, belongs to Own Bio Link and its licensors. You may use our templates to create your own pages, including pages you download. You may not resell our templates or offer them as your own template product.

Third-party services

Your page may link to other websites and services. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content or practices. Payments are handled by Stripe under its own terms.

Availability and changes

We work to keep the Service available and secure, but we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change, add or remove features over time. If we make a change that materially reduces what your paid subscription includes, we will tell you in advance.

Cancellation and termination

You can cancel your subscription and close your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these Terms, if required by law, or if your use creates a risk for us or others. If we end the Service for reasons other than your breach, we will refund any prepaid fees for the unused period.

Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Own Bio Link will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

Indemnity

You agree to indemnify Own Bio Link against claims, losses and costs, including reasonable legal fees, arising from your content or your breach of these Terms.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If a change is significant, we will notify you by email or on our website at least 30 days before it takes effect. By continuing to use the Service after that date, you accept the updated Terms.

General

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and Own Bio Link about the Service. If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. You may not transfer these Terms without our consent; we may transfer them as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.
